Joshua Walker |
Joshua
Walker, Growing up in a military family, I truly
can’t claim a home town, but I have been able to
enjoy a lot of the US and much of Europe. It was an interesting
coincidence that placed us near to Johns Hopkins when
I was diagnosed with cancer at 12 and we were able to
get care at their pediatric facilities. The treatment
was great, my recovery was quick, and one thing has impacted
me more than anything was the love of the medical staff.
They encouraged my quick recovery and supported my parents
with an unwavering resolve. I truly have one desire, to
be able to give even a little inspiration to those who
have endured what I did and give them a chance to excel
in their lives. Presently, I work in Washington, DC and
recently began pursuing a graduate degree in healthcare
at Johns Hopkins. |
